The City of Cali’s Ministry of Mobility is installing 50 km of new bicycle lanes on the city’s main streets. The objective is to provide transportation options for workers in the health, construction and manufacturing sectors as well as for workers from sectors that are beginning to return to work. The bicycle lanes are prioritized for roads that connect neighborhoods to the city center and run parallel to the transit system to allow for intermodal connections. The bicycle lanes allow for physical distancing and provide an opportunity for exercise for individuals utilizing this carbon neutral mode.
