As roads become busier, temporary cycleways are being designated to help ensure that people on bicycles and those walking can stay safe and maintain the physical distance requirements that are important to help break the chain of COVID-19 infection. Temporary cycle space is being installed across the region and car parking on the sea side of the road is being temporarily removed and replaced with a wider space for people walking or cycling, giving Aucklanders the ability to keep 2 metres apart from each other’s ‘bubbles’.
