About this initiative

Mayor Bill de Blasio announced that he would add temporary protected bicycle lanes to two very busy bicycle corridors — Smith Street in Brooklyn and Second Avenue near the Queens Midtown Tunnel in Manhattan — to increase bicycle safety at a time when cycling and cycling injuries are on the rise.
