Austin Transportation's Mobility Management Center staff has seen consistent below average vehicle volumes throughout Austin while the city's "Stay Home-Work Safe" orders have been in effect. In response, they have started implementing changes to signal timing on dozens of major corridors. The new timing plans reduce delay for all street users by reducing the amount of time between signal phases. These changes are intended to increase travel time reliability for all people making essential trips - whether that be by walking, cycling, scooting, or driving.
