Smart Cities Mission's Nurturing Neighbourhoods Challenge to reimagine infant, toddler and caregiver-friendly (ITC) cities in India

First launched in February 2020 as an effort to imagine Infant, Toddler and Caregiver-friendly (ITC) cities, the Nurturing Neighbourhoods Challenge was relaunched in November to complement the Cycles4Change Challenge and Streets4People Challenge. The event saw participation from 63 cities in the country, of which 25 were shortlisted for the next round. The proposals from the cities included a mix of reimagination of public spaces to make them ITC friendly, making neighbourhoods and streets more safe and walkable and improving access to early childhood services.
