The Streets4People challenge was launched following the response shown by cities to the Cycles4Change Challenge. The initiative is helmed by the Smart Cities Mission with the support of ITDP in capacity building and facilitation for cities. 113 cities have so far registered for the challenge, which will help them support the creation of pedestrian-friendly zones, pedestrian-only streets and the conduction of open-street events amongst others. The next stage of the challenge will see shortlisted cities creating detailed proposals.
