Indian Railways is converting around 20,000 old train carriages into isolation wards for COVID-19 patients. Passenger train service was suspended starting March 25th. Each sanitized carriage can accommodate up to 16 patients, a nurses' station, a doctor's cabin, and space for medical supplies and equipment.
